The Magic Wand Tool

I wanted to select the dress in the sample above. "Lasso Select" would have been too tedious and time consuming. The "Magic Wand" is the tool of choice here.

With the right settings, the "Magic Wand" tool can select a complex area with just one click. I played around with different Tolerance settings. I finally settled on the settings shown below.

The dress is selected but there are two white circles on the sample above. The smaller circle shows the "click point". The larger circle shows a small area missed by the "Magic Wand" selection.

A higher Tolerance setting included the missed area but it also included some of the hair. A simple solution is to add to the selection. Hold down the "Shift" key and click select the missed area with the "Magic Wand" tool.

Once selected, a new dress can be added to the wardrobe without costing a cent.
