XML World Conference Overview

The
XML World Conference
was held at the picturesque Chateau Laurier in
Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, from September 13-16, 1999.
The conference, organized by
Interdoc,
drew about 350 people from 60 countries.
The first day was devoted to
tutorials,
while the remaining three days consisted of
general sessions
in the morning,
followed by three or four tracks (Technology, Management,
Application, and e-Commerce) in the afternoon.
There is also an
At-a-Glance schedule that lists all presentation titles.
The
exposition portion of the show ran two days
and included about 15 vendors such as IBM, Corel, Omnimark,
Microstar, and Bluestone.
Danny Boulanger,
the President of InterDoc Corporation, stated for a
press release that
"XML World has been designed to give a forum for the
many streams that are combining to inform about new business
solutions such as the rapid emergence of e-Commerce. This
event will unite international attendees and technology
leaders from the XML business, technology and standards
communities."
