-
How can I advertise on The WDVL ?
-
Please see internet.com Corp's
advertising information.
-
May I write for you ?
-
Please do !
If you know your stuff and can write it down so that others can
understand and enjoy it - then write for us ! We're especially looking
for articles on web development technology and techniques.
Most of our guidelines are
reasonably flexible, but one thing we insist on is
HTML 4
validation.
-
Please will you link to my site ?
-
Visit the
Library;
select the most appropriate category, click on that link,
and you will find a fill-in form at the end of the page.
Linking back to The WDVL
is not a requirement but might make the
difference for pages that are marginal.
Our standards are high and we reject many.
-
May I link to The WDVL ?
-
Yes of course,
please do !
-
I have a technical question: how can I...?
-
Please subscribe to our
web discussion mailing list.
There you will find many people, including WDVL staff, who will try
to help you.
You will get the benefit of many people who like to help,
and the answer may be useful to others.
The WDVL webmaster will not answer technical questions except via our
web discussion mailing list.
-
May I use some of your Icons ?
-
Essentially yes; but of course those with recognised significance
should be used appropriately - e.g. the "HTML" icons are supposed to
mean that the page it's on has passed the appropriate
validation,
Some I collected, some I made. I believe those I've collected are
freely distributable but if you know otherwise or feel that credit
should be given for any particular icons, please let me know.

Netscape crashes on your site.
-
Beware Betaware !
If your browser crashes on any site, inform the browser maker.
If any software ever crashes, it is a bug in the software, not the
data. If you are using a beta version, you must expect it to be
imperfect, and the developers want to know how you crashed it - we
don't.
One of my earliest experiences as a software developer was
my boss randomly pounding the keyboard to test a data editor I was
demonstrating. It crashed.. at first I thought that his 'monkey test'
was unfair, but gradually I realised that any test that
crashed the program demonstrated a flaw. Code should check every input,
and deal with it gracefully if it's invalid. Anything less is a bug.
See
Netscape Bugs
and
Internet Explorer Known Issues.
Even if your browser crashes on no other site, it is still a browser
issue, not a site problem.
If you are stuck with having to use a browser that crashes on our
site, try switching off style sheets, or use our other site
WDVL.com).
-
None of the above applies - how can I contact you ?
-
You can either visit our
authors page to find out who we are,
and send your email to the most appropriate person; or use our
feedback form.
