Languages & Technologies
What languages/technologies do you need in order to make dynamic and
relational database driven web pages?
If you want to learn NO technologies, you might check out Drumbeat
2000--a WYSIWYG tool for building dynamic sites--it requires Win NT's
IIS and ASP technologies, as well as a SQL database, but it hides all
the dirty work. Howerver, I'll be honest--it'll probably give passable
results at best--maybe "intranet" suitable.
A little HTML, Perl, and SQL can take you a long way though--WDVL has a
couple of great articles on getting started:
Introduction to the Web
Application Development
From the first page: One of the questions most frequently asked about web application
development goes something along the lines of, "I am interested in becoming a web developer, but I don't know where to begin. There seems to be so many technologies in
the field of web development that I feel lost. How do all these technologies relate to each other, which ones do I need to learn in order to be considered a serious professional, and which one should I learn first?"
